Sign Language Interpreting and Captioning

The McBurney Center works with students who are Deaf or hard of hearing to develop an accommodation plan to ensure that students have communication access in classrooms, labs, and other instructional environments.  Classes at UW-Madison range from large lecture halls with audio systems and hundreds of students to small discussion sections where students sit in a circle.  Students select accommodations from their accommodation plan based on their needs for particular classes and classrooms.  Students may also use technology, such as assistive listening devices (ALDs).
