Mission, Vision, and Values

Mission

Forward in Access – Leading the UW–Madison community toward a culture of access and inclusion for people with disabilities through collaboration, education, and disability-related accommodations.

Vision

Our vision is a universally accessible UW–Madison community that values the meaningful participation and contribution of all members. We achieve this vision through all faculty, staff, students, and partners on campus sharing responsibility in accessible teaching, learning, and programs.

Values

The McBurney Disability Resource Center commits to holistic,
compassionate work grounded in an individualized, person-centered approach.
We foster environments that support agency and a sense of belonging for people with disabilities by centering their varied experiences and perspectives. We lead with the highest professional standards to collaborate with, educate, and empower the campus community-at-large to achieve equity in access.
