  • Donna supervises the Disability Program Aides (DPAs), and serves as backup to DPAs who staff the Front Desk. She also manages payroll and personnel processes. She orders office supplies, maintains office equipment, and coordinates general office management.

  • Mari directs the programmatic, operational, financial, and personnel activities of the McBurney Center. She provides technical assistance, outreach, and training to the University's faculty and staff. She works closely with the University's ADA Coordinator to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and University policies affecting people with disabilities. In addition, she evaluates disability documentation and conducts intake appointments to determine eligibility for services.

  • Terri manages the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program. She has supervisory responsibility for the Accommodation Specialist (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) and the Captioning Services Coordinator. Terri is also an interpreter herself and recruits, hires, schedules and supervises all McBurney sign language interpreters and handles all interpreter requests from UW-Madison students.

  • B.A. supervises the Transition Services Program and front desk services, as well as paid and volunteer classroom assistants. She coordinates the McBurney Scholarship Program and priority registration service, and provides administrative support to the notetaking service. She also helps manage the office database and website.

Todd Schwanke

  • Todd manages Adaptive Technology Services, including supervising the Accessible Learning Technology Coordinator and Instructional Technology Consultant. He manages the adaptive technology lab, and consults with and provides training for students regarding adaptive technology. Todd is also the accommodation specialist for students who are blind or who have low vision. Accommodation Specialists determine eligibility for classroom accommodations and work with students, faculty and the campus community to provide disability-related support and advocacy. They work to promote equal access to programs, activities, and services at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Additionally, he collaborates with various campus partners on a variety of disability and accessibility related projects, including web and physical accessibility.

When she's not on campus, Heather revels in spending time with family and friends, playing in her garden, cooking, and exploring all the Madison has to offer. A life-long Wisconsin resident, she enjoys seeing the countryside on her bicycle, as well as racing mountain and cyclocross bikes.
